Gameplay tips:

Avoid attack spamming, the sword's cooldown does not reset until you touch the ground or strike an enemy.

You become invulnerable while attacking, deflecting any projectiles sent your way.

Every bullet you deflect slightly extends your attack reach and invulnerability. You will want to line up your attacks with incoming gunfire to maximize your chances of striking a far-away enemies.
